  • Developing new business through phone calls and in-person contacts
  • Advising clients in their individualized real estate investment strategies
  • Preparing detailed analyses of clients' properties, including broker opinions of value (BOV), market research, and rental surveys
  • Staying updated with industry trends and market research
  • Marketing exclusive property listings to qualified buyers
  • Negotiating exclusive listing agreements and sale contracts

Also, an active Illinois Real Estate Broker License is required.

Essex' Associate program is a three year, in depth education to the investment real estate industry. It is designed for those individuals who aspire to pursue an entrepreneurial path and a career in Investment Real Estate but wish to be paid to learn. Primary responsibilities will include conducting market research, performing valuation analyses of investment properties, preparing commercial real estate proposals and marketing materials, as well as aiding in business development and database maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and excellent analytic, written, verbal and computer skills. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a passion for learning the real estate industry, along with a history of personal excellence. The Job – Analyst

An applicant will be expected to perform a variety of daily tasks which can include but are not limited to:

  • Creating marketing materials for email campaigns, newsletters, and mailers;
  • Conducting market research for apartment rent and sale comparables;
  • Creating client deliverables such as property valuations and marketing packages;
  • Maintaining our extensive client/property database;
  • Preparing various real estate contracts and listings agreements, personal letters, and other forms;
  • Managing collection and assembly of due diligence materials for real estate transactions;
  • Attending building inspections and tours (if licensed).

Qualities for Success

The ideal applicant will have an Associates Degree or higher and at least 3 years of real estate or marketing experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytic and communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and time manage;
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word is required and experience with Salesforce is a plus;
  • Motivated self-starter with a desire to succeed and contribute to the success of a team;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a full-time position and while standard business hours are required, the nature of our business lends itself to a certain level of flexibility.


This position offers a salary between $50,000-$55,000 plus benefits. Compensation will be discussed on a case-by-case basis dependent on the experience level of the applicant.
