Essex Brokers Marketing West Town Apartment Building

October 01, 2021

Chicago-based multifamily brokerage firm Essex Realty Group, Inc. has been selected to exclusively market 1659 W. Huron Street in West Town.

1659 W. Huron Street is a nine-unit apartment building located in the heart of West Town, just west of Ashland Avenue. The unit mix is comprised of studio, one- and two-bedroom floorplans. Seven of the apartments have been tastefully renovated to include new kitchens with stainless steel appliances, updated bathrooms, and laundry in-unit. The property presents a value-add opportunity as a new investor can further renovate the remaining two vintage apartment units.

The property benefits from the neighborhood’s low vacancy rates, rising rents, and close proximity to public transportation. 1659 W. Huron Street is currently listed at $2,450,000 by Essex Director Jordan Multack.

“1659 West Huron is a coveted corner trophy building in the West Town Neighborhood. Believed to have been built in 1870, a year before the Chicago Fire, it provides an investor an opportunity to own one of the most iconic buildings in the neighborhood, just two blocks south of the booming strip of restaurants, bars and retail shops on Chicago Avenue,” explained Multack.

Essex is active in the West Town are. Essex brokers recently facilitated the sale of 2131 W. Ohio Street located nearby in West Town’s Ukrainian Village area. The four-unit property sold for $1,260,000.
