Essex Brokers Sale of Adjacent Properties in West Town

Essex Realty Group arranged the sale of 1637 and 1639 W. Huron St., two adjacent multifamily properties in the West Side’s West Town neighborhood. The properties were purchased by a local investor for approximately $2,320,000.

Essex director Jordan Multack brokered the transaction, along with principals Jim Darrow and Jordan Gottlieb. “The buyer was attracted to the opportunity to further improve each property by adding laundry in-unit and modernizing kitchens and baths to raise current rents to market level,” said Multack.

Both buildings have been meticulously maintained by the same owner for almost 30 years, providing the new investor with the opportunity to acquire two rarely available assets located steps apart.

1637 and 1639 W. Huron both feature large spacious one-bed/one-bath and two-bed/one-bath apartments. Both properties were gut-renovated in 2002.
