Essex Realty Group promotes two associates to directors

Essex Realty Group, Inc. announced the promotion of Derek Kaptanoglu and Anthony Citriglia to the role of director. They both are advancing their careers within the company from the role of associate.

Since March 2019 and April 2019 respectively, Kaptanoglu and Citriglia have worked together on the brokerage team led by managing director Brian Kochendorfer and director Brian Karmowski. As associates they concentrated primarily on the acquisition and disposition of multifamily and mixed-use investment real estate. Responsibilities include asset valuation, market research and analytics and business development throughout the Chicagoland suburbs.

“Over the last year Derek has established himself as a quick learner. He operates with integrity, is self-motivated and has built confident relationship with clients,” Kochendorfer said. “He has become an integral part of our suburban team and is deserving of this promotion.”

Prior to joining Essex, Kaptanoglu worked as a sales and leasing associate for Starboard Commercial Real Estate in San Francisco, where he guided local and national clients with their commercial real estate lease obligations. He graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a B.A. in political science and government. Kaptanoglu now calls Wicker Park home.

Prior to joining Essex, Citriglia worked as a commercial real estate broker for @properties in Chicago where he specialized in the transactions of retail, hospitality and multifamily properties. Citriglia lives in Portage Park in a small multifamily building he owns and operates and is currently obtaining his CCIM accreditation.
