DETAILS

Essex' Associate program is a three year, in depth education to the investment real estate industry. It is designed for those individuals who aspire to pursue an entrepreneurial path and a career in Investment Real Estate but wish to be paid to learn. Primary responsibilities will include conducting market research, performing valuation analyses of investment properties, preparing commercial real estate proposals and marketing materials, as well as aiding in business development and database maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher and excellent analytic, written, verbal and computer skills. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a passion for learning the real estate industry, along with a history of personal excellence. Essex values its corporate culture which promotes a genuine camaraderie, friendship and work ethic. Candidates must demonstrate their commitment to these ideals.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Our Team

Each brokerage team at Essex has a specified territory and operate independently from other teams in the company. In essence, each team is run like its own business with cross-collaboration occurring frequently between teams.

With over 12 years of brokerage experience, Brian Mond focuses on selling multifamily properties throughout Chicago’s South Side neighborhoods. He has rapidly grown his business and is now in search of a broker to join his team to continue to help grow his team’s market share. The Job – Broker

Brokers are responsible for business development and execution. We provide tremendous resources, analytics, marketing, training and commission splits. We reward success with advancement into becoming a Managing Director, and in exceptional circumstances, ownership as a Partner in Essex.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Developing new business through phone calls and in-person contacts
  • Advising clients in their individualized real estate investment strategies
  • Preparing detailed analyses of clients' properties, including broker opinions of value (BOV), market research, and rental surveys
  • Staying updated with industry trends and market research
  • Marketing exclusive property listings to qualified buyers
  • Negotiating exclusive listing agreements and sale contracts
  • Also, an active Illinois Real Estate Broker License is required.

Qualities for Success

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, Juris Doctor, CPA and/or CFA. In addition, the candidate must have a demonstrated ability of real estate and transactional experience. Additionally, a candidate’s attitude and professional values must be consistent with Essex’ philosophy. The ideal candidate is task and process oriented, possess strong internet research skills, and will exhibit an analytical approach to problems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required, and experience with Salesforce is a plus.

This is a full-time position and while standard business hours are required, the nature of our business lends itself to a certain level of elasticity.
